Company History
Roger LaBrie started LABRIE ASSOCIATES in June of 1981. At that time it was primarily a landscape maintenance business focusing on the Greater Portsmouth NH area, but some interior maintenance was done as well. In 1989 the company began to offer parking lot sweeping and striping.
In the early '90's, Labrie Associates began to expand into residential landscape installations, planting annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs as well as installing retaining walls, walkways, and patios for both their residential and commercial customers. Labrie was uniquely positioned to weather the recession of the early 90's due to this wide range of services; while some competitors struggled with narrow business plans that only included "luxury landscaping", Labrie continued to grow. The late '90's found Labrie expanding its base further into many southern NH towns such as Hampton, No. Hampton, Stratham, Exeter, and Greenland, and west into Salem and Manchester NH.
Mick Sheffield joined Labrie Associates in 2001 and began expanding its services into new areas. Mick brought with him a Degree in Forestry from the University of New Hampshire and an extensive Horticultural background. He led Labrie in creating sustainable planting designs for parking lot islands, and venturing into commercial snow plowing, an aspect of the commercial property maintenance service which is now one third of the total yearly business.
Mick bought the business from Roger LaBrie in 2002. All the same basic services continue to be available, although they, in themselves, continue to grow even as new options and exciting new products become available.
